Lim Miryang
Biography
Lim Miryang (Seoul, 1968) is a Korean artist whose abstract practice explores movement, speed, and vital energy through an intense chromatic language. After studying design in Seoul and beginning her career as a designer in the advertising industry, she embarked on an independent artistic path that led her to exhibit in prestigious institutions in Korea and abroad, including the Chungmu Art Hall (2012), the Sejong Cultural Center (2017), and the Hangaram Design Museum (2018).
Her work is rooted in dynamic visual expressions where small nodes and marks intertwine to create a powerful flow, evoking transformation, expansion, and infinite possibilities. Rather than depicting static images, Lim Miryang translates the sensation of movement and spatial vitality into a continuous dialogue between form, color, and energy. Distinguished by the use of shamanistic and raw tonalities, combined with a free and instinctive gesture, her paintings embody a sense of contemporary spirituality.
Lim Miryang’s practice has gained the attention of major collectors and international institutions. Among them, the Louis Vuitton Collection in France has recently acquired several of her works. Today, she is recognized as a unique voice in contemporary Korean art, an artist capable of merging tradition with experimentation, guiding the audience on a visual journey that unites energy, intuition, and transcendence.
