Michela Zasio
Biography
Michela Zasio is an Italian contemporary artist born in Seren del Grappa, in the province of Belluno, Veneto. She has been living and working in Rome for many years. Her artistic journey began in the late 1980s when she immersed herself in painting studies in Rome, attending institutions such as the Scuola di Arti Ornamentali del Comune di Roma San Giacomo and the Accademia Libera del Nudo at the Accademia di Belle Arti di Roma. In 1999, she met the renowned Spanish artist Pedro Cano, who became her mentor. Under his guidance, she honed her expressive skills through various workshops.
Zasio's work is characterized by its evocative exploration of the interplay between nature, memory, and the subconscious. Her pieces often blend abstraction and figuration, capturing fleeting moments and inner landscapes with poetic sensitivity. She employs a range of mediums, including painting, mixed media, and installations, frequently incorporating organic materials and textures to evoke a tactile immediacy.
Over the years, Zasio has showcased her art in numerous exhibitions across Italy and internationally. Notably, her works were featured at the Fondazione Stelline in Milan and at the Fundación Pedro Cano in Blanca, Spain.
